6 Factors to Consider When Picking LED Lights:

Brightness:

The brightness of the LED lights depends on the design of your kitchen. For more modern and contemporary design kitchens, we recommend using white light or creating a comfy environment by incorporating ultra-warm, warm, or natural lighting can help achieve a softer and more welcoming effect.

Colour:

From our range, you can choose from different shades of white including ultra-warm, warm, natural, pure, and cool. We also have a selection of fixed single colours including red, green, blue, pink, and orange. You can combine these options using our colour-changing RGB, and have the best of both with colour change and white LED lights (RGBW).

Dimensions:

To perfectly fit and install the lights, you need to consider the length, thickness and width of your LED light strips. From our range, you can purchase LED light strips in 5m or 10m depending on the voltage of the circuit board. Although, for tighter spaces, they can be cut further down to increments of 25mm and 100mm. For further information, look at our full range of LED strips to find out if the width and thickness of the strips would fit in the areas you wish to add accent or display lighting.

The Direction of Light:

The way your LED lights will illuminate the kitchen space can be manipulated using our range of lightweight and easy-to-install aluminium LED profiles. Alternatively, you can choose the direction of the LED light output. Although most LED strips are found with light output from the front, perpendicular to the surface, we can provide light strips side-lit and parallel to the surface.

Waterproof:

Within kitchens, there is a high risk of water entering the electricals. To prevent this, most types of LED lights have a coating that blocks moisture and foreign bodies to reduce exposure. This is rated by electrical professionals as an IP rating, ranging from IP22 to IP68. IP stands for Ingress Protection. LED strips with no protective coating do not protect against water ingress so have a rating of IP22. However, most of our LED lights have a high rating of at least IP65, guarding against water droplets and moisture in the atmosphere, and are ideal for use in kitchens, bathrooms and outdoors.

Our range of LED strips have an IP68, and are fully submersible, providing maximum water protection. It is very important to consider this when planning your designs for kitchens and lighting for kitchens to ensure the lights installed near sinks or other water features have an IP rating as high as IP65 or above for maximum protection.

Warranty and Care Period:

Established since 2011, we take pride in our warranty and care services by offering a 5 year warranty on most of our LED strips.

LED Lights for the Kitchen:

We have a variety of LED light options to use in your kitchen designs. Whether you’re renovating your kitchen or making your existing kitchen brighter, we will have the perfect LED light option for you!

LED Strip Lights:

We have a huge selection of LED strip lights including white CCT adjustable, RGB, RGBW, 12V and 24V. LED Strip lights consist of a thin flexible circuit board made of copper with LEDs mounted at regular intervals to the front and a strong self-adhesive tape to the back. Due to being relatively inexpensive, easy to install and versatile LED strip lights are a popular choice to lift the mood in the kitchen spaces with multiple ways to incorporate them into the kitchen design. For example, LED lights are often used in composite covings or cupboards to provide extra light and to illuminate kitchenware in the cupboards.

LED Tiltable Downlights:

LED tiltable downlights are a great idea for under-cupboard lighting or LED ceiling lights for the kitchen. Our range of downlights conforms to 30, 60 and 90 minute fire rating standards. This means they have a seal to help prevent and slow down the spread of fire. This is especially important to consider when designing the kitchen, especially when installing lighting fixtures near or around the cooker. All the downlights available have an IP65 which makes them suitable for not only kitchens but also bathroom designs too.

LED Bulbs:

LED light bulbs are a great alternative for light fixtures coming down from ceilings and over the kitchen island lighting. Our LED bulb range contains our E27 LED Bulbs, providing a powerful and lasting alternative to the 60W incandescent bulbs, with high output and high-quality driver components to give the brightest and most reliable bulb for the pendant and flush lighting and other features.

How to use LED Lights in your Kitchen?

When redecorating, there are countless ways you can light up your kitchen using LED lights. Whether you’re wanting a brightly-lit room or a standalone LED strip to highlight kitchen features, there are plenty of LED lights that can improve the look of your kitchen.

Kitchen Cabinets:

Add light to your dark kitchen cabinets and cupboards using our LED strip lights to improve functionality and visibility. To install LED Strip lights we can custom-cut different increments to fit in tight spaces. Alternatively, neon flexible LED lights can be installed to create a colourful environment. Our LED light strips can add a fairly modern contemporary touch to your kitchen interior however, you can include warm, natural or ultra-warm light for more traditional kitchen cabinet lights for a softer glow. Illuminate display cabinets to show your dinner sets and vases.

Under-Cupboard Strip Lights:

Using LED strip lights to illuminate spaces on the underside of the cabinet across the kitchen surfaces is a practical and stylish way to bring extra light into your kitchen. The lights are placed underneath cabinets and shelving, which can help provide extra focal light across kitchen worktops. Under-cupboard strip lighting brings a modern touch and can help refresh traditional kitchens. They can be used instead of the main light or as both low accents and used to highlight the main features in the kitchen.

Ceiling Lighting:

Over a kitchen island or a dining table, consider adding a central warm and ambient light by hanging a pendant fixture with our LED bulbs to create a focal workspace on your kitchen design. You can manipulate the output of light depending on the length of the cord to add more depth to your kitchen space. To set the lighting the way you want, choose the light controls that work for you; for instance, add a dimmer to enhance your mood lighting options. Pendant lights have numerous options and styles which work well with our range of LED lights and are suitable for all kitchen ceiling lights. To increase the spread of light you can include ceiling spotlights in the kitchen design.

Task Lighting:

When looking for task light options for specific areas of your kitchen, such as over the cooker, sink or worktops for preparing food, we recommend using LED strip lighting for the kitchen or LED downlights. For task lighting in the kitchen, we recommend using LED strip lights as they can diffuse the spread of light better than spotlights, which are best suited for focal or under-cupboard lighting solutions.

Floor Lighting:

Add another layer of depth to your kitchen by incorporating additional spotlights or LED strip lights using a range of LED profiles that can help create a modern and stylish touch, as well as provide you with ambient low lighting when entertaining guests. To add a subtle splash of colour, include neon flex LED light strips under the plinths/ kickboard; these can be from our colour-changing RGB range or our single colour selection. You can combine colour-changing and white LED lights (RGBW) for maximum functionality and an option to change the atmosphere in your kitchen.

LED Profiles:

Composite Covings Profiles:

To further manipulate the direction and spread of light, our LED light strip range can be combined with a number of composite covings. Our latest lightweight composite coving in our LED lighting accessories is available in five different profiles. They can be included in designs to have an ideal spread of light to add ambient low. Available in five different profiles, we have the ideal product to subtly install the LED strip lights and create an atmosphere to suit any occasion. This is made from light-weight, easy-to-use materials for a quick, hassle-free installation. These profiles include, angled, curved, semi-round, square, twin-lit, and skirting board profiles.

Aluminium Profile For LED Strips:

An aluminium profile option for LED light installations can be beneficial for casting the light out at a 45 degree to the surface. Our range of aluminium profiles is available in a diffuser of your choice such as opaque or frosted. The frosted profile option is more transparent and therefore provides more light, whereas the opaque diffuses the light better. All of our Aluminium LED profiles will accommodate our IP65 LED Strip Lights. Our full waterproof IP68 LED Strip Lights will only fit in the box section aluminium due to their thickness.
