LED Strip Light’s Waterproof Coating
Waterproof coatings protect various materials from water and other damaging elements. Essential in many industries, they range from home sealants to advanced barriers for electronics, like IP68-rated Waterproof LED Strip Lights.
These lights are water and dust-resistant, performing well even under challenging conditions. We use waterproof coatings at LED Lighthouse to protect our LED strip lights from moisture and potential particle damage.
Nano Tech Waterproof Coating
Nanotechnology, manipulating matter on a nanoscale, enhances the performance and durability of waterproof coatings. Nanotechnology improves the hydrophobic properties of the coating, making surfaces highly water-resistant and self-cleaning.
Furthermore, nanotechnology increases the lifespan of the coating by ensuring the even distribution of protective substances. At LED Lighthouse we harness nanotechnology to offer superior, IP68 certified Waterproof LED Strip Lights.

FAQ:
Are LED light Strips waterproof?
LED Light Strips need to have an IP rating of a minimum of ip65 for splashproof protection and ip68 for full waterproof protection up to 1 metre.
What are the best waterproof LED strips?
The best waterproof LED light strips for efficiency and brightness are our Waterproof RGB LED Strip Lights 60 LED/m in 12V & 24V and the SL7-24V-IP68 Waterproof White LED Strip.
What happens if LED strips get wet?
Depending on the IP rating of the LED strips, they will most likely break if there is prolonged exposure to water unless there is a waterproof coating on the LED strips. For example any lights which have less than IP65 will break if they come into contact with water, this is why our Festoon Lights and Waterproof LED Strips are all IP65 and above.
How do I know if my LED strips are waterproof?
Firstly, you’ll need to find out the IP number and then use our ‘What IP rating do I need?‘ page to help evaluate how your IP rating will relate to your LED Strip Light waterproofing.
Can you cut waterproof LED Light Strips?
The LED strip can be cut with scissors, to as small as every 6 LEDs (10cm). Once you cut the strip the end of the LED strip will need sealing. We sell small tubes of clear silicone and clear rubber end caps, which can be used to seal the cut end of the LED strip.
