A backlit mirror floats: the glass sits in a soft halo of light that spills onto the wall behind it, the fitting itself invisible. It is the difference between a bathroom that was lit and a bathroom that was designed, and it takes one prewired loop of strip around the back edge of the mirror you already own.
Every kit is built to your mirror rather than sold in fixed lengths. Add up the edges, tell the configurator the perimeter, and we cut the strip to that measurement, link the corners, size the driver and wire the lot before it ships. The price updates as you build, so what you see is what you pay.
How to Build your Mirror & Vanity Lighting Kit
Four choices, in order, in the configurator above:
- Colour. Fixed white in warm 3000K, natural 4000K, pure 5000K or cool 6000K. Adjustable white you tune anywhere from 2700K to 6500K, warm for the evening bath and cool for the morning shave. RGB or RGBW for colour changing, or one fixed colour.
- Control. Static on the wall switch, dimmable, or motion activated so the halo greets you at night without a switch. The colour changing options come with their own remote.
- Measurement. One number: the perimeter of the mirror in metres. A 600mm by 800mm mirror is 2.8m. Add up all four edges, or the circumference for a round mirror.
- Add-ons. An aluminium profile with diffuser, and a spare connector pack.
Light That Tells the Truth About Your Face
A vanity mirror has one job: show you what you actually look like. Most bathroom lighting fails at it, casting overhead shadows and tinting skin. The fixed white strip in this kit is dotless COB with a colour rendering index above 90, so make-up, skin tone and stubble read the way they will in daylight, and the light comes from around the mirror rather than above your head, which is what kills the shadows under eyes and chin.
Because the strip faces the wall, you never see a diode, a dot or a glare point in the glass. What you see is the halo.

A typical mirror is a small load: a 2.8m loop of adjustable white draws about 42W, which runs from a compact plug-in driver in a standard socket or shaver-style spur.
How do I fit my kit to a mirror?
The strip fixes to the back edge of the mirror, facing the wall, so the light escapes around the glass instead of shining at you. The mirror needs to stand slightly proud of the wall, on battens or a cabinet face, for the halo to show. The loop arrives cut, linked and prewired, so on the 24V side there is nothing to solder and nothing to work out.
The strip runs at 24V and is IP65 rated, which covers bathroom splashes. The driver must sit outside the bathroom zones or in a suitable enclosure, and if the connection is hardwired into a bathroom circuit, that part is a job for a qualified electrician. A plug-in driver outside the bathroom needs no electrician at all.
FAQs for our Mirror & Vanity Lighting Kits
Will it work on the mirror I already have?
Yes, as long as the mirror stands a little proud of the wall so the light can escape around the edge. Measure the perimeter, order to that measurement, and stick the prewired loop to the back.
Is it safe in a bathroom?
The strip runs at 24V, not mains, and is IP65 rated against splashes. The driver sits outside the bathroom zones, and a hardwired bathroom connection must be made by a qualified electrician. On a plug-in driver outside the bathroom there is no mains work at all.
Which white should I choose for make-up?
The fixed white strip renders colour at CRI 90 and above, and the most flattering working light is natural 4000K to cool 6000K. If you want warm light in the evening as well, choose the adjustable white and move between them from the remote.
How do I measure a round mirror?
Use the circumference: the diameter times 3.14. A 600mm round mirror is about 1.9m. The strip follows the curve; only tight bends need care, and the measuring guide covers them.
Can two mirrors share one kit?
Order a kit per mirror. Each one arrives as its own sealed loop with a correctly sized driver, which keeps the wiring simple and both halos equally bright.
Does the halo dim?
Yes. White and single colour loops take an inline dimmer, and the colour changing options dim from their own remote. A mirror loop is a small load, so it dims smoothly right down to a nightlight glow.
