Large diode (5050) RGB LED's, 30 LED's per metre. LED's are mounted on a white PCB (Printed Circuit Board). Our flexible strip lighting has a 3M self adhesive backing for easy installation.
To maintain the life and high efficiency of the LED's we recommend the strip lighting be mounted in direct contact with a suitable heat conducting surface to allow adequate heat dissipation. We sell a self adhesive aluminium foil tape which helps dissipate the heat. Although LED's don't produce much heat compared to halogen/filament bulbs, the heat they do produce needs to be dissipated otherwise the LED's become damaged with subsequent loss of light output.
We offer this lighting strip in various metre lengths. It can be cut every 3 LED's (10cm). Each LED strip we supply has an input cable on one end to connect with the power supply unless you order a 5 metre strip in which case there's an input cable at both ends. 12V Power Supply
An LED 12 Volt Driver is required to power the LED strip lighting. They are available to buy with the strip on this page or can be purchased separately in our LED driver department where we also sell waterproof drivers.
Colour Controller
An LED colour controller controls the colour and light effects of the LED strip. It's powered by the LED driver. We offer a choice of colour controller, all are compatible with this LED strip. They are available to buy with the strip on this page, see our LED Colour Controller department for more info. Each metre of LED strip requires 7.2 watts of power so choose a driver and colour controller powerful enough to supply the total watts required i.e a 72W driver and 72 watt colour controller can power up to 72 watts of LED strip equivalent to 10 metres. Only power a maximum of 5 metres of LED strip in series with the colour controller, additional LED strips need to be connected in parallel.
